Bosco Carvalho sdb NASHIK, JANUARY 6, 2009: The Salesian Family at Nashik celebrated its annual get-together on January 1, at Divyadaan. This yearly event brings together the Salesians of Don Bosco and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in Nashik to celebrate their oneness. What made this event special was that every member on the campus, right from Mother Marccetti to the youngest Novice, was present for the celebration. The get-together commenced with a prayer service in the Divyadaan chapel. Fr. Savio D’Souza, Rector of Divyadaan, then welcomed the gathering, after which all moved to the auditorium for some entertainment. The games, relays and other creative competitions kept everyone in high spirits. It was an opportunity for all to use their talents as well as to enjoy themselves. This was followed by a festive dinner. The day came to a close with Sister Rita Lobo, Superior of Maria Vihar, delivering the Good Night. She urged each member of the Salesian Family to ask God to hold their hands all through this year and throughout their lives. This get-together was certainly a concrete way of launching the Strenna for the year 2009 which calls on us to make the Salesian Family a large and active movement, working for neglected youngsters.
