BANGALORE, AUGUST 1, 2009: Following a two year M.TH course with a specialization in Catechesis, at Visvadeep - the Institute of Youth Mini
stry and Catechetics, Fr. Francisco Pereira successfully defended his Thesis “The Early Christian Community (Acts 2: 42-47) as an Inspiration for Building Faith-Community Today” . Under the able guidance of Dr. Gilbert Choondal, Fr. Franco was able to blend his years of pastoral experience with a scientific study and propose new ways of building ‘Faith-community Today’.
On July 28, 2009 in the presence of Dr. Anton Paul the Moderator and Dr. T.V. Mathew the reader and a number of listeners – priests, sisters and well wishers, Fr. Franco presented his Thesis very logically and with a Catechesis that was very much down to earth.
“Surely, these two years of study will help me in my new apostolate in Kuwait”, said a beaming Fr. Franco after the defense. “The church today, more than just being a large community of believers, must find its strength and inspiration in the Small Christian Community”, he concluded.
