VIRAR, DECEMBER 29, 2009: The senior citizens of Resurrection parish, Virar had a rollicking Christmas this year. The parish gathered all the seniors on Sunday, December 27, 2009 with the aim of providing them with an entertaining evening.
The programme began with the Eucharist at 5.00 pm. After the Eucharist, the seniors assembled in the hall for an entertainment programme. The programme began with words of welcome by the parish priest. It was followed by the march past in which all the seniors took part. A housie and a few spot prizes were organized. Later, the children sang Christmas carols and the elders too joined in. The dance was the best part of the day. Nearly all the seniors took to the floor dancing to their hearts content. The programme ended with a sumptuous meal.
There was a glow and a sense of satisfaction on the faces of the elders as they left the hall, thanking the priests for providing a wonderful evening during the Christmas week.
