KAPADVANJ, JANUARY 14, 2010: For the first time in the history of Don Bosco Kapadvanj a Cricket Tournament was organized for Youngsters in and around Kapadvanj Taluka especially where the SHGs are based. The tournament was held from January 5- 12, 2010. Four matches were held daily. The campus was flooded with youngsters for the first time as they came to cheer their village team.
The Final match was played between Pramukhswami 11, Kapadvanj and Ryka 11, Tayabpura . Ryka 11 won the match by 4 wickets and in turn won the tournament trophy. The commentary for the final match was sung in the “Rabari” dialect by Mr. Kinner. The objective of this tournament was to form Sports Clubs in Kapadvanj Taluka and implement government schemes. Therefore the emphasis was laid on youngsters to prepare themselves for the same. It was a great tournament. All the youngsters were very happy and expressed their appreciation and thanks to Fr. Mayank for organizing Cricket Tournament. The tournament was a success because of the efforts put in by Fr. Mayank, Bro. Johnson, Mr. Shailesh, Mr. Kamlesh and the others from the development office.
