BORIVLI, FEBRUARY 10, 2011: The feast of the patron saint of our parish, St. John Bosco, was celebrated on Sunday, February 6, 2011. Archbishop Felix Machado was the main celebrant. His homily was truly inspiring; it focused on the Word of God and his experience with Salesians in different parts of the world.
The same evening we had the “Bosco Nite”, a gathering of all the parishioners of our parish. The program began with an introductory prayer by Fr. Allwyn. This was followed by the zonal march past. The theme for the evening was “Care for Creation”. Each zone had a specific color code and had to give a two minute presentation on the theme. It was a pleasant sight to see the young and the old participating whole heartedly in the event and being creative too. There was a power-point presentation focusing on the forty years of our institution. Games of various kinds were organized for all. Those who wanted to shake a leg got an opportunity to do so on the dance floor. Snacks and dinner were served. Fr. Ronnie concluded the program with his inspiring words followed by a short prayer.
Everyone participated in the programme and enjoyed it to the full. All efforts put in by Fr. Allwyn together with the members of the Parish Pastoral Council helped in the smooth conduct of the program. Everyone went back home with a smile on their face and joy in their hearts.
