BIS #2451 RENEWAL PROGRAMMES AT DON BOSCO- NASHIK

NASHIK, JULY 12, 2011:In the context of the Triple-Celebration of this year, that is the Visit of the Relic of Don Bosco on August 6 to Nashik, the completion of twenty years of Don Bosco Parish and the International Year of the Youth, Don Bosco Parish Nashik under the able guidance of the parish priest Fr. Nelson Falcao has launched some renewal programmes.
 
On July 3, 2011 Rt. Rev. Edwin Colaco, Bishop of Aurangabad spoke on the theme of “Pastoral involvement and responsibility in the Parish”. In a very lively and jovial way he spoke of the active participation of the laity in the activities of the church. The event concluded with Holy Eucharist celebrated by Bishop Edwin himself.
 
On July 9, 2011 Rev. Fr. Michael Gonsalves, from Vasai diocese the director of Jeevan Dharshan Kendra, Vasai gave a three hour session on the topic “Catechetical Teaching and Animation of the Youth”. Parishioners from Don Bosco parish and Dominic Savio Satpur were present for this occasion. In a very interactive and novel way Fr. Michael Gonsalves enlightened the participants to make catechism a joyful experience for the young. His main focus was “Moving from Life to God”.
To give examples of life experiences and through that make the child aware of God who is present in these experiences.
   
The third renewal program was conducted by Fr. Michael G on the theme “Pastoral Leadership and Animation in the Parish”. He dealt with the need of the church for lay leaders who can help their fellow Christians as leaders who are humble and who care for others. The occasion was graced by the presence of Rt. Rev. Lourdes Daniel, Bishop of Nashik.
