BIS #2477 GENERAL BODY MEETING- WADALA

BIS Reporter
WADALA, AUGUST 1, 2011: The General Body Meeting for the primary and secondary sections was held through the second week of July.

These meetings were presided over by the Principal Fr. Bernard Fernandes, the Headmistress – Tr. Nicole, the Supervisors – Tr. Sangita (Secondary), Tr. Matilda (Primary) and the respective class teachers.

Successful deliverance of education in its truest sense is achieved only when a parent and teacher work in close association, where the sole aim is to focus towards the larger interest of the child, with this thought, Fr. Principal welcomed the parents to the New Scholastic Year.

At the outset the Principal congratulated the teachers, parents and the students for the good SSC results. He also praised and encouraged the present batch of Std. X for their serious and committed approach and hoped for some outstanding performances by them. Fr. Fernandes urged the parents to encourage their children to study on their own rather than making them carry that extra load of coaching classes. The new developments in the library and the KG classrooms came in for special mention as this lent to the growth and progress of the school. The Headmistress later briefed the parents about the many aspects of the rules and regulations of the school as also the new evaluation system.

This year round the school introduced a novel idea of getting the students of Std. IX and X to be present along with their parents for a considerable part of the meeting. This was to enable them to be aware of the many demands and communications made at this meeting that would involve their commitment and co-operation. This turned out be a huge success as was evident in the enthusiastic response during the interaction.

We trust that this fervor continues right through the year. As the meeting drew to a close, parents were asked to file their nominations for the PTA elections for the new scholastic year.
