BIS #2482 DON BOSCO KNOWN AND LOVED IN SOUTH GUJARAT

CL. Dinesh Vasava sdb
NARUKOT, AUGUST 4, 2011: The Relic of Don Bosco, our Father and Founder is coming to bless Gujarat. In preparation of this auspicious occasion, Fr. Stanny and Bro. Dinesh took a trip to South Gujarat Missions to make known and love Don Bosco by screening the movie ‘The Mission to Love’.

From July 28 to August 2, 2011 Fr. Stanny and Bro. Dinesh went to the mission stations of Dediapada, Umarpada, Relva and Sagbara. The Salesians were welcomed by the Parish Priests, Sisters, the Boarders and the villagers. About four hundred boys from Dediapada, three hundred and eighty from Umarpada, eight hundred from Relva together with the villagers and four hundred and fifty boys and girls in Sagbara from std. V to XII were present for this mission. After the screening of the movie, followed a general talk on vocations in particular to Religious life and Priesthood. Vocation folders were sought after by most of the std XII students, they were taken up by the inspiring life of Don Bosco in service of marginalized youth. They even left their contact numbers and Bro. Dinesh would contact them during the Diwali holidays.

The Diocesan Priests, the Jesuit Priests, and other religious Sisters were very receptive and welcoming towards us and Don Bosco.

For us Salesians it was a very fruitful and satisfying experience in making Don Bosco Known and Loved among the various tribes of Vasavas, Gamits, Chodharis and Konkanas.
