GUJARAT, AUGUST 16, 2011: With songs and prayers, competitions and tournaments, the community of Don Bosco Kapadvanj, Gujarat celebrated the Marian month with great devotion.

The Marian month was inaugurated on July 16, 2011 by Fr. Ivan De Souza, the Rector of the community. The theme chosen for the Marian month was, ‘Mary our Guide.’  Devotional sessions conducted in the form of rosary services, bhajan services and the Marian serenade helped the devotees to come closer to Our Lady. On the other hand the bookmark competition, poem competition, grotto competition, table tennis tournament and the Mariacup created a lively spirit and an enthusiastic atmosphere during the Marian month. The Marian Quiz conducted brought the aspirants to a deeper understanding of Our Lady. The Marian Nite was an evening get-together accompanied with puzzles and games. The feast of the Assumption of our Lady was the climax of the Marian month. The morning Eucharistic celebration highlighted the intercessory role of Mary in our lives.

The Marian month indeed manifested that Our Lady has an important place in one’s life.
