JAITALA, OCTOBER 18, 2011: On October 16, 2011, Our Lady of Fatima Church, Jaitala celebrated their parish feast with much gusto and joy. On this joyful day, the parishioners had gathered together to thank the almighty for the gift of His Mother to humankind.
During the novena days, Frs. Dominic and Cyril made themselves available for the sacrament of Reconciliation and animated the faithful with their well prepared homilies. The people's participation during these days was good. The novenas were well animated by the different S.S.C. (Small Christian Communities) of the Parish.
The long awaited feast day began with a procession of the statue of Our Lady of Fatima. The Eucharist began at around 6:30 p.m. with Fr. Peter Dominic (MSFS) vice- principal of St. John's School as the main celebrant. In his homily, Fr. Dominic made the people aware of the role played by Our Lady in salvation history, he also emphasized on the message of Our Lady of Fatima and exalted the faithful to pray the rosary daily in their families.
After mass, the people gathered for a small fellowship meal. The participation of the people in the Eucharistic celebration and by sharing the meal has bought the parish community together.
We pray that through the intercession of Our Lady of Fatima we may become the perfect Disciples of Christ as Mary was.
