SHELTER DON BOSCO RUNNERS-UP IN 'GO FORWARD '

WADALA, OCTOBER 20, 2011: The boys of Shelter Don Bosco participated in the 'Go Forward' Inter NGO u-14, seven-a-side football tournament organized by Concern IndiaFoundation, at Western Railway sports ground, Lower Parel. The tournament was only for students from BMC schools. Our boys studying in Sahakar Nagar School and Sewri Wadala School participated in this tournament.  The majority of the teams participating were from the BMC schools and some were from the NGOs

On October 16, Shelter Don Bosco played three matches against Urdu medium Sewri, Chakala Hindi medium, and UP Hindi medium high school and won 2-0, 1-0, and 1-0 respectively. Master Javed Khan scored three goals and Master Nagesh scored a goal in these three matches.

The second phase of the tournament was played on Tuesday October 18, at Karnataka sports ground. Shelter boys played against Vinobha Bhave BMC School (2-1), semi-final against U.P. Marathi School, Malad (3-1). In the final's our boys could not resist against Colaba BMC School and lost by 3-0. Six boys (Javed, Nagesh, Akram, Krishna, Pratap and Nassurddin) from the team were selected for football coaching conducted by Standard Chartered and Liverpool football team.

We congratulate the boys for all the efforts they have put in and wish them luck for their future endeavours.
