VIRAR, DECEMBER 01, 2011: On November 27, 2011, a Rally for the children of English speaking parishes of the Diocese of Vasai was held at Resurrection Church, Virar (E). Nine hundred and thirteen children from thirteen parishes participated in the Catechism Children's Rally 2011. The theme of the rally was to reflect on the life and vocation of Bl. Pope John Paul II. His Grace, Archbishop Felix Machado, Bishop of the Vasai Diocese was the Chief Guest for the day.
The day began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist followed by a cultural programme in the parish hall. Fr. Lawrence D'Souza, Rector and Parish Priest of Resurrection Church welcomed the entire gathering. Each parish had to perform an act and the children showed their talents by presenting beautiful skits and dances. Archbishop Felix Machado shared his experience with Bl. Pope John Paul II.
As the programme came to an end, Fr. Michael G, Catechetical Director of Vasai Diocese gave the vote of thanks, in which he thanked the Salesians for hosting the event.
