BIS #2835 PRAYAS KENDRA HAS AN ENJOYABLE DAY

BORIVLI, FEBRUARY 25, 2012: Come one … come all.  This excited call to all the evening study class Students of the neighboring slum, the tailoring students and Teachers of our Parish CCO, the Prayas Kendra elicited a good turnout for the picnic at Pali Beach Resort. We reached the picnic spot after an hour's journey from Borivli. On reaching there, all were welcomed with a sumptuous breakfast after which they quickly changed and jumped into the swimming pool. They played around in the water till noon supervised by the teachers and Fr. Allwyn. Their tired bodies and rumbling tummies were greeted with a delicious lunch followed by a sweet dish. Then the still exuberant children went to play on the swings, slides, train rides, merry-go-round and were given further treats like candy floss and popcorn. 

The evening ended with tea. Tired but still high spirited, they trudged back to the bus for the onward journey home.  There was a continuous refrain from many of them "Kitna accha hain yahan – Father ko dhanyawad bolna chahiye".  They were thankful to Fr. Ronnie and Fr. Allwyn for being so kind and generous for this picnic and the various activities conducted by Prayas Kendra during the course of the year which has become a special privilege for them. 

This brings to mind the saying of Winston Churchill:  "We make light of what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
