BIS #2927 FEAST OF ST. DOMINIC SAVIO

CHINCHWAD, MAY 09, 2012: The Salesian world in and around India waits for July 06 to celebrate the feast of St. Dominic Savio, but the hostel boys of Don Bosco Vyawasaik Prashikshan Kendra, Chinchwad had the fortune to celebrate the feast on its actual day. The boys who are both Christians and non Christians were well prepared for over a week in the knowledge of this saint every day.

The catholic boys and girls began the feast by a Solemn Mass in tri-lingual singing and with an inspiring homily by Fr. Monty, the main celebrant of the Mass. He focused on the theme of becoming saints by doing ordinary works with whole heartedness.  The day was filled with fun and laughter. The morning part had its own flavour packed with array of fete games followed by lunch after which some boys rolled up their sleeves in cooking their appetizing meal for the night. The close of the day had its own charm. The mouth watering meal prepared by the boys left the entire hostel awestruck at their preparation. Then came the exciting and the most awaited moments the DJ! The foot tapping numbers of latest Bollywood and Adivasi songs pulled everyone on the floor. For nearly one and an half hour the dances rocked to the floor.

The tiring and the smiling faces revealed joy and happiness as they retired to bed.
