LONAVLA, MAY 14, 2012: The annual Vocation camp for the seniors was conducted from May 2-6, 2012. There were forty four participants for the camp out of which thirty one were selected to join Don Bosco, Lonavla either for the junior college or for an experience with the post XII students. The second Vocation camp for the juniors was scheduled from May 8-11, 2012. There were forty nine participants who were selected either to make an experience of the Vocation Camp and some for the Apostolic School.  Nine from this group were selected to join Lonavla in the new academic year while most of the participants expressed their desire to join Don Bosco, Lonavala after the Xth Standard.

The main highlight of camp for the Senior candidates were the different sessions directed towards discerning of God's call in ones life, the discovering of one's personal talents (via the thirty seconds to fame, games  and  spare time activity), moments of prayer and the outreach program to Kunegaon to express their solidarity with the poor villagers.  The culmination of the vocation camp was the celebration of the feast of St. Dominic Savio with the Savio Nite.  The program for the junior's camp was almost the same in exception to outreach program. Replacing the outreach program they had the trek to the Tungarli Dam.

It was indeed a wonderful sight to see the youngsters participate with enthusiasm and joy in all the activities. I believe that the participants have taken with them the spirit and the pedagogy of Don Bosco for their personal lives.

Thanks to the painstaking efforts of Fr. Ajoy, the Vice- Provincial of the Mumbai province, who meticulously planned and guided the vocation team in its animation and organization with ideas from Fr. Glenford Lowe. Special thanks to the different vocation promoters especially Fr. Brian who has been guiding and preparing the candidates from the Mumbai Region as also coordinating with the other vocation promoters and Rectors of the Province .  The Rector Rev. Fr. Cletus and the community of Lonavala for hosting the vocation camps and taking care of every minute detail.   We cannot forget the two clerics Charlin chandran and Joystan Machado who worked tirelessly with the volunteers to make this year's vocation camp a memorable experience.
