VIRAR-MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 8, 2013: The nine-day novena, in honour of St. John Bosco, culminated with the celebration of the feast on February 03, 2013, in the Resurrection Church, Virar (East).
The Festive mass was celebrated at 6.00 pm by our Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Lawrence D'souza sdb. Mass was followed by 'Bosco Bonding', an annual Parish get-together, organized by the Cultural Cell of our parish, to commemorate the feast of Don Bosco.
In his homily, Fr. Lawrence shared inspiring anecdotes from the life of the Saint John Bosco, who immortalized the words, "To Jesus, through Mary." The Eucharist, was animated by the Salesian Co-operators of Virar, and at the post-communion, the congregation watched an audio-visual presentation highlighting the many different works of the Salesians of the Province Mumbai.
"Bosco Bonding" a strictly 'Parishioners Only' get-together witnessed an unprecedented turnout of parishioners numbering Eight hundred and ninety five on the grounds of our Church. Every parishioner was welcomed with a slice of cake and presented with a housie ticket.
The parish team warmly welcomed the parishioners after which a huge outdoor screen displayed a short presentation on the life of Don Bosco. The 'Grand March', led by a round of dancing which set the mood for a lively evening.
An impromptu talent contest for the children was held, followed by a game of housie. The enjoyable evening concluded with delicious biryani for all and lots of music.
Thanks to the Parish team and the members of the Cultural Cell, who worked tirelessly to plan meticulously for the event.
The event aimed primarily at providing a platform for all our parishioners to come together and celebrate the feast of Don Bosco.
Long live Salesians, Long live Resurrection Church and Long live Don Bosco.
