by Yvonne Gomes

KUWAIT, FEBRUARY 21, 2014: On 13th of February 2014, a special Eucharist was celebrated for all the Students appering for Std X and XII Board exams along with their parents. This mass was organized by the Salesian Cooperators of Kuwait along with God’s Love Community (GLC) at St Thérèse Church and was celebrated by the parish priest Fr. Blany Pinto.
It was well attended by over 150 children and their parents. The melodious choir brought a lively touch to this special celebration. The student lectors read the Scriptures so clearly and meaningfully touching all our hearts.
Fr. Blany in his homily reminded the children about the sacrifices that parents make to educate their children. He challenged them to do their best by quoting Fr. Cajetan Lobo, who used to say, “If you can get 100 marks, scoring 99 is a shame.”  “The homily was very helpful and it has really motivated me to make right decisions in the future” remarked Allissa D’souza, a standard X student from Don Bosco school.
After the mass concluded, the Charismatic prayer group members laid hands on each and every student present praying for them personally by name. They invited the Holy Spirit to guide them, protect them and help them to remember what they have studied. “I had tears in my eyes,” shared Angel Pereira, “as the charismatic prayer group members laid their hands and prayed for me”. All the students and their parents left with grateful hearts.
