BORIVLI-MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 26, 2014: Don Bosco High School Borivali celebrated heroes on its Annual Day on the 14th of February 2014. The programme was a wonderful tribute to the heroes that have influence mankind for the better. The title is a line from the theme song that struck a chord in the hearts of all in the audience. How well it summarises the role heroes play in our lives!
The programme commenced with the welcome of the Chief Guest, Mr. Albert D’souza who runs an educational institute of repute at Palghar and the dignitaries to the beats of the lezim. A Prayer Dance provided an auspicious beginning to the show by invoking the blessings of the Almighty. A warm welcome song followed. The Rector, Rev. Fr. William Falcao, then shared a few words of wisdom.
Mrs. Monica Gonsalves, who completed 25 years of fruitful service to the institution, was felicitated along with the Chief Guest and the dignitaries. Students from Std V to IX celebrated heroes from various fields, ranging from fiction, history, sports, academics, Science and entertainment through foot tapping dances. Intermittent thought provoking skits enhanced the experience.
Students who excelled in academics, sports and other co curricular activities were awarded prizes and scholarships for their excellence. The Annual Report summarised the highlights of the eventful academic year.
The exciting and inspirational celebration of heroes culminated in the Finale dance. The Principal, Rev. Fr. George Carlos then proposed the vote of thanks. It was indeed an evening to remember.
