by Shalu MehrotraANDHERI-MUMBAI, JUNE 2, 2014: Prafulta Psychological Services, Andheri organized 'Career Carnival 2014' on May 30 and 31. It aimed at helping students and parents become aware of the variety of educational and career choices available in the world and assist them in finding out what could be the most suitable options for them individually. Fr Godfrey D'sa, the Director of Prafulta, Andheri began the two day event with a prayer and words of encouragement to the team which had worked hard to organize this fair.
Various options in Arts, Commerce, Science and also Vocational courses were displayed through charts and explained by Career Guidance counselors. There were sessions held on 'Ingredients of making a healthy Career choice' thrice in a day. Over the two days, there were talks by professionals on Law, Music, Chartered Accountancy, Vocational courses, Mass Media, Dentistry and Psychology.
There were handouts available on 110 career options prepared by the Career Guidance counselors at Prafulta. Students could do a short test of 30 minutes to find out which educational and career options are suitable to them. While the students underwent the test, parents attended a talk on parenting. The process truly helped the students in refining their career choices.
