ANDHERI-MUMBAI,              SEPTEMBER 1, 2014: It was a great venture for Don Bosco            Balprafulta (DBBP), to initiate the process of forming 'A            Child Protection Committee' at CST. The first meeting was  held on August 22, 2014 at 3.00 p.m at the            Senior Station Manager's Office. This first meeting was well            attended by the following members: Senior Station Manager Mr L            .K Raniyewale , Mr. Vinayak Diwale,Station Manager,   Baliram            Saroj SSE, Sunita Dhokane GRP Baban Koyle GRP ,  Vishnu Parab            Senior T.C,  Brijesh Kumar, RPF police Inspector Dinesh Nair.

            The purpose of this committee was: to understand the issues            and concerns of children on railway platforms and interact            with Government and Non-Government stakeholders, to maintain            children's record referred by voluntary organizations or            competent authority by RPF and GRP, to formulate            recommendations for 'Safeguarding the Rights of Children at            Railway Platforms', to create awareness of Child Rights among            travelling public – symbolic hoardings at and around railway            premises and to set up 'Child Assistance Booth' at all the            major stations and terminals for assisting children who are            lost or abandoned or are in need of help. The meeting was a            success and they hoped to go forward to activate the committee            for the assistance of all children lost and abandoned or in            need of help.
