LONAVLA-PUNE, SEPTEMBER 10, 2014: Don Bosco High School and Junior College students felicitated their teachers on the occasion of Teachers Day on September 5, 2014. The programme began at 9.30 am and it went on until 12:00 noon.

The programme began with the teachers being honoured by applying a 'tika' on their forehead while the prayer service commenced. The management along with the coordinating teacher were invited to light the lamp. The students prayed for the teachers and their well-being. The teachers were then escorted to their respective seats. The programme was studded with a variety of dances and songs performed by the students of the institute (V standard toddlers to the XII standard teens).

The address to the teachers brought out the importance of a teacher in the life of a student. The PTA members showed their appreciation by presenting each of the teachers with a gift. The teachers were also presented a token of appreciation from the management. The students presented their cards, which they had made for their teachers, after the programme. After the felicitation by the students, the teachers were taken out for a meal which was arranged and sponsored by the PTA members. The gratitude shown towards the vocation of a teacher by the students was an amazing sight.
