BIS # 4244 ‘CHILDREN FOR CLEAN INDIA’- A CHILDREN’S DAY WITH A DIFFERENCE

MATUNGA-MUMBAI, NOVEMBER 20, 2014: On November 14, 2014 the Don Bosco High School, Matunga took the opportunity to take our Honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi's 'Bal Swachhata Abhiyan Week' forward. Students enjoyed a variety entertainment programme put up by their teachers.


Rev. Fr. Rector put the day into perspective, beginning with the importance of children's day, celebrated in honour of our first Prime Minister, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru whose 125th birth anniversary is being celebrated this year. Fr. Rector reminded the children that very few enjoyed the privileges that students often took for granted, and that responsibility towards society went along with the same.


Rev. Fr. Principal addressed the children about the 'Bal Swachhata Abhiyan Week' with its 3-pronged focus- Cleanliness, Nutrition and Personal Hygiene. Rev. Fr. Principal, urged the children to be instruments of the change they wished to see. The entire gathering pledged to keep up sustained efforts to keep the surroundings clean. The students along with their teachers then took to wielding brooms and other cleaning paraphernalia to clean up the school premises and the vicinity.
