BIS # 4395 VALUE EDUCATION DAY CELEBRATED AT DON BOSCO, OROS

by Fr. Brian Moras, sdb

OROS-KUDAL, MARCH 13, 2015: The 10th of March, 2015 was an enjoyable day for the students of Don Bosco, Oros as the school celebrated the Value-Education day.  The Pre-Novitiate Course Boys were also invited for the event.  The PNC boys had been taking Value-Education classes for the students of Std. V-IX.  This year the classes were on the life and Mission of Don Bosco,  being the bicentenary year of his birth.

The Chief Guest for the day was Rev. Fr. Bernardino Almeida, sdb, the coordinator of the Evangelisation and Catechesis Dimension for the Province of Panjim. All the classes from Std. V-VII put up short items based on values from the life of Don Bosco. The PNC Boys put up a skit, "Piece, not Pieces," culminating their item with the song "Sleeping Child," which was sung by the very famous group, 'Michael Learns to Rock,' using the image of a child to symbolize peace, goodness and humility.

Fr. Bernardino gave an inspiring message to the students focusing on Don Bosco's Mission of making his boys 'Honest Citizens and Good Human Beings'.  He also stressed respect for elders, teachers and living by good values.  The PNC boys were then felicitated for the Value Education Classes that they took for the school youngsters.

After the programme, there was a brief session by Fr. Bernadino for the staff and PNC boys.  This was followed by an evaluation done on the Value-Education classes conducted for the year by the principal, Fr. Clive Telles, sdb.  All were asked to give their suggestions for making Value Education Classes more effective in the coming year and the suggestions were noted down.

Fr. Brian Moras, sdb then thanked the Principal, Salesians and the staff of Don Bosco Oros, for the opportunity as also their help and support that the PNC boys received in conducting the classes.
