BORIVLI-MUMBAI, MARCH 21, 2015: It was a moment of pride and honour for all the boscoites here in the Borivli educational complex as they celebrated the 25th anniversary of the priestly ordination of their Principal, Fr. Donald Fernandez on March 20, 2015.
The programme started by welcoming Fr. Donald to the stage along with Mrs. Dorothy Fernandez, the mother of Fr. Donald, Fr. William Falcao, the Rector and Fr. Baptist Monteiro , the Administrator of the 
Don Bosco educational complex along with the coordinators of each section and the PTA members. The theme for this programme was 'Chosen to be the light of the World'.
Thereafter, Fr. Falcao spoke about the contributions of Fr. Donald to the educational field and also to the Don Bosco educational campus. He also spoke about the meaning of priesthood and how lucky and honoured a person is, who completes 25 years of priesthood.
Mrs. Rose, coordinator of the NIOS addressed the staff, students and others who were present for the programme. She spoke of Fr. Donald as a very influential person and a very strong personality. She mentioned his student- centered approach of Fr. Donald and his supportive and motivational nature. This was followed by the cake cutting and felicitation ceremony.
The students expressed their love and gratitude towards their principal through dance and song. The students of the pre-primary danced on an action song while the students of the secondary school sang a song, the lyrics of which were specially written for Fr. Donald.
Finally, Fr. Donald spoke about his journey from childhood to priesthood. He spoke about his life experiences and the ups and downs in his journey and the support received from his parents throughout his journey. The programme came to an end with Mrs. Neelam delivering a vote of thanks on behalf of the staff, students and management.
