by BIS Correspondent

MUMBAI, OCT 19, 2015: Six students from Don Bosco School, Nerul interacted with professional Calligraphy artists when they attended a Calligraphy workshop at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahlaya on October 16.

The workshop was part of the activities of the school art club and was intended to give its members an opportunity to learn the art by communicating with professional award-winning artists.

Kiran Mhatre, the in-charge of the Art club, organised the workshop  in collaboration with non-governmental organisation, Akshara Project.

Akshara has –over the last six years - undertaken similar initiatives to teach calligraphy to local artists across India, to help them learn the technique to enhance their skills in the traditional art form.

Students got an opportunity to interact with artists like Rajeev Kumar and Qamar Dagar; and to understand their techniques in greater detail.
