VASAI, DEC 22, 2015: The Salesian province of Mumbai continues to welcome new priests into its fold, with two more ordinations of Father Roshan Gonsalves and Father Richard Burkhao, in a solemn Eucharistic celebration at the Our Lady of Light Church in the Vasai diocese.

Son of the soil, Bishop Thomas Dabre- who presided over the ceremony- extolled the people of Vasai, for gifting their generations with faith. "Vasai is blessed with Christianity. Our ancestors were simple peasants and fisherfolk, yet the greatest thing they did for us was accepting the faith and passing it down the generations. That is why Vasai is blessed with so many bishops, religious and a very faithful laity."

Bishop Dabre exhorted the people to encourage their children to become priests, while expressing his gratitude towards the parents of the newly ordained priests for their great sacrifice- of gifting the Church with their sons.

Over 50 priests, along with the family, friends and well-wishers of Father Gonsalves and Father Burkhao, joined together to pray for their holiness. It was a solemn ceremony that left many of those present moved to tears.
