AHMEDNAGAR, DEC 22, 2015: As the giving season of Christmas ushers in, St. Anne's Church, Ahmednagar ensured the poor families of the parish have a very merry Christmas.  On December 20, the parish's Saint Vincent De Paul group organised a Christmas programme for its needy parishioners.

Hampers containing grocery items like oil, ghee, rice, rava, maida, dal, sugar were distributed to 40 families; so they could prepare their festive sweets and ring in a cheery Christmas at home. They were also given blankets to help them face the bitter winter cold.

The parishioners generously contributed towards the expenses, amounting to over twenty thousand rupees in cash, besides the gifts in kind. The cost of each hamper was five hundred rupees. As the popular saying goes, 'Christmas is not so much about opening presents, as opening our hearts.'
