MUMBAI, JUN 28, 2016: Don Bosco Provincial House, Matunga hosted the Mumbai province Departments and Commissions meet, with over 40 members present, on June 21.
Commencing with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the members were introduced to the general understanding of their expected tasks and outcomes. Father Savio Silveira, Vice Provincial of Mumbai province addressed the gathering at the onset and explained the set-up and organisational working of the commission.
Father Maria Charles, Delegate of Don Bosco Youth Animation for South Asia, presented the perspective of the Youth Ministry and the plans for the South Asian region. Representatives from the Youth Ministry, Academic Institutions, Technical Institutions, Youth at Risk, Psychological Services, Formation, Vocation Promotion, Parishes and Missions, Development Works and Social Communication were present at the meeting.
Each commission then met independently reflecting on the Line of Action proposed by the Provincial Chapter 2016. The time-frame and review modes were discussed and finalised. The various commission heads then met to further discuss possible linkages. The commissions are expected to help each community in the execution of various programmes.
