BIS #5224 ST. JOSEPH'S WADALA WINS DIOCESAN BIBLE QUIZ

MUMBAI, SEP 28, 2017: A Bible Quiz and Bible Fashion show was conducted by the Archdiocese of Bombay for school students on September 14 at Our Lady's home in the city. Over 50 schools participated in the event that was graced by the presence of Bishop John Rodrigues, in-charge of the Biblical Ministry in the diocese.

 

The day began by invoking the presence of the Lord, after which Walter D'Souza- promoter, Biblical committee welcomed all present. Bishop Rodrigues with his words of encouragement prepped up the children and also lauded the efforts of the organisers, and the innovative ways of bringing the holy Bible alive to the present generation. 

 

An intense elimination round for the Bible Quiz was conducted, testing the knowledge of the 51 schools, of which six schools were shortlisted for the final round. The well-planned quiz had various rounds like true/false, MCQ, AV and a rapid fire round. The teams were not left alone but could rely on help through life-line options such as flip, audience poll etc. 

 

The Biblical Fashion show gave a peak into the talents of the children showcasing various Biblical characters through a two-minute presentation each. The painstaking effort in the detailing of each character was evident. 

 

The winners of the Bible Quiz and Biblical Fashion show were given trophies, medals and gifts. The Bible Quiz was won by St. Joseph's High School- Wadala followed by Carmel of St. Joseph- Malad, with Divine Child School- Andheri securing the third place. The Biblical Fashion show was won by Canossa Primary School- Mahim, followed  by St. Stanislaus School- Bandra and Sacred Heart-Vashi, who won the third prize.

 

The boys of St. Joseph's High School who put in a lot of effort under the direction of Father Nelson Falcao and Cleo Farro, were delighted to secure the first place. It has not only helped to increase their love and knowledge of the Gospels, but has also created an interest among the group to learn more about the Word of God.
