BIS #5654 GUARDIAN ANGELS: SERVANTS AND MESSENGERS OF GOD

by Deacon Romero D’Souza

MUMBAI, OCT 4, 2018: Youth from Bosco Boys Home in Borivli, joined forces on the Feast of Holy Angels on October 2, to pray for and thank all Salesian brothers undergoing practical training in the Mumbai province especially Brother Jittin Varghese, who is at the Home to mentor and guide the youth on a daily basis.

The day began with the Holy Eucharist being celebrated by Father Adolph Furtado. In his homily, Deacon Romero D’Souza shed light on the presence of a Salesian, and the mission entrusted by the Congregation.

Following Holy Mass, the youth greeted Brother Varghese. They left messages of appreciation and highlighted his qualities on a board that was placed at the venue. In the evening, a family circle was held to felicitate and honour Brother. The boys from the technical department sang an old Hindi remix song to thank Bother for his kindness and generosity.

The senior high school boys then read an address as well as composed chains of quotes in honour of Brother Varghese. The working boys sang a song in appreciation and the junior school youth presented the song entitled 'Mumma ki parchai' (the
shadow of a mother).

“Brother has his qualification in engineering yet so humble that he is with you from morn till night. Every day he spends time listening to each of you and teaching some of you. He even sees to your etiquette, hygiene, grooming and daily works. You need to pray for him and thank God for giving you such a Guardian Angel who takes care of you and protects you all,” Brother Michael Codillac, said, on behalf of the community.
