Vardhaman Shah and Monil Bheda
WADALA, JULY 29, 2011: Our prolific basketball team caught the eye of a number of sports enthusiasts with their astounding performances in the recently concluded u/14 Dominic Savio (Savio Hoops) basketball tournament held at Dominic Savio, Andheri. They emerged winners among a group of teams from all over Mumbai in the B division.
In their first match, the opponents – Swadhyay Bhavan – were overwhelmed by the talented young Joesphites by a huge margin 58-1. The second match against IES too was a one sided affair with our team cruising to a 38-3 victory. Campion, the opponents in the third match were left stunned and lost 42-12.
Anchoring all these victories was our point guard – Sandesh Ramraje – who thrilled the crowds with his amazing talent and went on to bag the Most Valuable Player award of the tournament. It was indeed a proud moment for Joseph’s when our captain – Smith Shinde – went on the podium to receive the prestigious trophy on behalf of the school.
Kudos to the team and their coach for their outstanding performance.
