KURLA, SEPTEMBER 16, 2011: On September 8, 2011  Don Bosco Institute of Technology (DBIT)  took  a  major  step  in signing  an  MOU  with  I Create India (ICI)  and PanIIT Alumni India to  establish an ICreate DBIT  Centre at Don Bosco Centre for Learning (DBCL), Kurla, Mumbai.
The aim and objective of this ICreate DBIT Centre will be to provide access to training in Entrepreneurship Development to students of DBIT and other Institutes on the Campus of DBCL. The ICreate Centre will also help in establishing and developing an incubation centre.
Fr. Mario Vaz, Executive Director, DBIT-MMS together  with  Mr. Ulhas Kamat, CEO, ICreate, India  and Mr. Satish Kini, COO, Pan IIT Alumni India were  the signatories  at  a  quiet but  possibly  path breaking  occasion. Dr. Krishnamoorthy, Director (DBIT) coordinated the effort to make this event a reality. Mr. Soman, Principal (DBMA) was instrumental in getting ICreate and Pan IIT to the DBCL campus. Fr. Rector  though not present  was  remembered  for  giving  the  go ahead  after  the first  meeting itself.
Fr. Mario Vaz reiterated the rationale for going into this strategic alliance. The  Don Bosco  values  of  having a preference for the  disadvantaged  as  well as  providing  livelihood skills is in alignment with what  ICreate and PanIIT  are  attempting to do with this initiative. This was reaffirmed by Mr. Ulhas Kamat , Mr. Satish Kini, and Mr. Ashok Kalbag. Fr.Vaz also informed those present that the ICreate DBIT Centre would be coordinated by Dr. Sarika Kulkarni.
