DIVYADAAN PICNIC TO WALWANDA
Cl. Clement Mathera
DIVYADAAN, AUGUST 21, 2012: On the occasion of the birthday of our Father and Founder Don Bosco, the community of Divyadaan Nashik went for a picnic to Bosco Samajik Vikas Sanstha (BSVS), Walwanda.
The day August 16, began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist in the morning. The community began its journey towards the picnic spot at 8 o’clock in the morning and reached its destination by 11 am. The journey was an enjoyable experience as the brothers continuously sang party songs and other vernacular songs.
On our arrival at Walwanda we were welcomed by the director, Fr. Anaclete D’mello. The whole campus seemed like a green carpet with lush greenery all around. After venturing around the place for a while, we all gathered in a hall where we were enlightened about the rural developmental work being carried out there by the salesians and other staff members.
After a brief introduction about the work, Mr. Melwin Pangya the coordinator through a power point presentation explained to us the various works being done and the initiatives taken by the BSVS. Fr. Anaclete then shared with us some insights on the historical growth of the place, the present day lay-out and works of BSVS, and some of its future plans.
This was followed by a sumptuous meal. After lunch we played housie and some more party games. After our tea at around 4 pm we thanked Fr. Anaclete and the staff for their wonderful hospitality and began our journey back to Divyadaan.
It was a day when we all remembered Don Bosco in a special way and shared some exciting and enriching moments with the community members. We are grateful to all our benefactors because of whose help it was all possible; may God bless them all.
