BIS # 3568 SPREADING LOVE THROUGH KINDNESS - BORN TO LEAD

MATUNGA-MUMBAI,JULY 15, 2013: Don Bosco High School celebrated the Feast of St. Dominic Savio on the 9th of July2013. The Catholic boys had a special mass celebrated by Fr. Joaquim Fernandes. He animated his homily with a short quiz and called on every Teacher and Student to take the little saint as a mentor and to always stay connected with God.. The Non-Catholic boys had the ceremonial lighting of the Lamp with an invocation, a prayer dance, a bhajan and a few yoga asanas. The students of std. X D presented a skit portraying Savio as a kind and loving leader who stayed away from sin and motivated others to do so as well. He also had the special quality of being able to stand up for the truth, Fr. Bosco D'Mello conducted a prayer urged the students to develop the same qualities in order to lead by example.
After invoking God's blessings the investiture ceremony was carried out with the band playing a rousing welcome to the Management, Supervisors, Teachers, parents and students. The Student Council was invested by the Principal with symbols of authority and took the oath of allegiance to their office. Mrs. Beatrice, the Asst. Headmistress led the NCC Scouts and RSP volunteers in taking their oath. Myron Gomes the school captain prayed on behalf of the Student Council. The Principal thanked the teachers who were responsible for making the investiture ceremony a grand success. He congratulated the newly invested leaders and parents who had come to encourage them. He then enumerated the qualities of a good leader that helps in the growth and development of the school. Myron Gomes proposed the vote of thanks and the ceremony ended with the singing of the school anthem.
