LONAVLA-PUNE, SEPTEMBER 25, 2014: TERI (The Energy And Resource Institute) evaluated Don Bosco, Lonavla as one of the best performing schools for implementing activity based environment education. The school was felicitated on friday, September 19, 2014 with a cash prize along with a Trophy and Certificate. Don Bosco, Lonavla dedicated one month each to a specific environmental issue such as water pollution, air pollution, land/ soil pollution, waste, water conservation, harvesting, etc.
They also have an active Eco-Club. Besides this, papers collected from the school are sent for recycling. The students have become active environmentalists over the course of the project by taking up the cause of pollution with local authorities and also working with various corporate companies on important environmental issues.
