NAVI MUMBAI, JAN 27, 2015: An inter-school basketball tournament was conducted at Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul on January 23 to commemorate the Decennial Year of the school.
Schools from in and around Navi Mumbai participated in the event that was conducted for both boys and girls in the under- 11, under- 13 and under- 16 age groups. Father Bonnie Borges, the manager was the Chief Guest and he inaugurated the tournament.
The event was closely contested and the participants were cheered on by an enthusiastic group of spectators. Acharya School, won in the boys under 11 category while Pillai School, Rasayani was the runner up.
Visanji Academy from Andheri won top honours in the girls under 11 category, while St. Anthony Girls School, Chembur was the runner up. Father Agnel's from Vashi emerged victorious in the boys under-13 age group, as they edged out Balbharti from Kharghar in the final.
Father Agnel's won top honours in the girl's under 13 category and the boy's under 16 category as well. Mary Immaculate School from Borivli bagged top honours in the girl's under 16 category. The winners were felicitated by Father Anthony Fonseca, principal of the host school.
