ALIRAJPUR, OCT 4, 2016: Don Bosco Academy, Alirajpur had their extraordinary visitation conducted by Father Maria Arokiam Kanaga, the Regional Councilor for the South Asia region of the Salesian congregation on October 1.

Father Kanaga reached the institute on September 30 and was welcomed with a cultural dance. He was felicitated by Father Stanny Ferreira, the Rector and asked to plant a sapling besides the Grotto to commemorate his visit.

Later that evening Father Kanaga held a conference for the community members. He urged the Salesians to have a balance in living their mission, community life and consecrated life together.

The following day he celebrated Holy Eucharist for the School of Excellence children and spoke to them about Don Bosco and his educative system. He then addressed the students of Don Bosco Academy, citing Swami Vivekananda's dual path to lead India to greater heights - the abolition of caste system and equal opportunities granted to women in comparison with men. Father Kanaga said, "My dear students clean your minds of all evil thoughts before you clean your surroundings."

Later, Father Kanaga met the teaching staff and encouraged them to foster good thoughts in the minds of the students. He personally met each confrere of the house. Father Kanaga enjoyed his afternoon lunch with the domestic staff of the institute.

In the evening, he met the Parish Council and finally concluded his visitation by presenting the report of his visit to the confreres of the community.

Father Ferreira expressed his gratitude, "Our community was indeed blessed to have the extra ordinary visitor, he brought us joy and happiness in immense quantity and he leaves us with smiling faces and a cheerful heart."

"Don Bosco loves us and I have personally experienced this in the person of Father Maria Arokiam Kanaga, " Cleric Sagar said.
