CHHOTAUDEPUR, OCT 24, 2016: Savio Football Club (SFC) narrowly beat Bosco Football club (BFC), 1-0 in the final of the seven-a-side Savio Football Tournament that was hosted by the Past Pupils of Chhotaudepur Association under the guidance of Brother Ramesh Durairaj, the Director of Lok Seva Kendra, Chhotaudepur at the Salesian Institute of Chhotaudepur on October 13.


Nineteen teams from Salesian schools in the Gujarat Region of the Salesian Province of Mumbai participated in the competition. Both team's put on an impressive display in the final. However, Vechat Rathwa's strike was the difference between the two sides and handed his Savio FC the title.


Father Brian Boothello, the Rector of the institution, handed the victors Savio FC a cash prize of Rs 5001 and a trophy. Rathwa took home the title of the Best Player of the Tournament and a cash prize of Rs 501. The runner ups also received a cash prize of Rs 3001. In his address, Father Boothello lauded Brother Durairaj for his efforts in reviving sport in the region.
