MUMBAI, MAY 28, 2008: Oscar Tuscano, our young Mumbai province missionary to Albania, r
eceived the ministry of acolyte on May 16, 2008 at the hands of Enzo Dieci, auxiliary Bishop in Rome. Several other young Salesians received the ministries of lector and acolyte together with Oscar. The ceremony took place at the Gerini Institute, Rome, residence of the Salesian students of theology who frequent the Salesian Pontifical University. Irrepressible as ever, Oscar was delighted to have us (Felix Fernandes and I) with him for the function, together with a group of friends from the Salesian parish of Latina where he goes for the weekend ministry. Oscar, who now belongs officially to the province of Naples, did two years of practical training in Albania before beginning theology at the UPS. He hopes to be ordained soon in Vasai, together with his brother who is a Pallotti seminarian.
