Pavita Fernandes
WADALA, AUGUST 4, 2008: On August 1, as we celebrated the First Friday of the month and also the feast of St. Alphonsus Liguori, founder of the Redemptorist Congregation, Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Brian Moras at St. Joseph’s High School. Fr. Brian is the Vocation Promoter of the Salesian Mumbai Province. After the Mass, Fr. Brian conducted an orientation programme on vocations for the young Josephites of Standards VII to X. Thought provoking questions on the meaning, purpose and finding an answer to life's call were discussed. Fr. Brian presented his own vocation story to the students. He stressed the fact that God has important plans for each one of us. Destiny is created by choices, rather than by chance. To further motivate the students, Fr. Brian presented the example of Evangelo D’Souza, a young Salesian from the Wadala parish, who is currently studying philosophy in Nashik. In conclusion to the programme, the students viewed the video film, "Fisher's Of Men" which conveyed the message that “the harvest is rich but the labourers are few”.
