Ashwin Macwan sdb PUNE, DECEMBER 10, 2008: On December 7, the eve of the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, an ‘Evening with Mary’ was organized for the youth by the Salesians of Don Bosco Youth Centre. About 60 youngsters from different parishes, such as Todiwala, Yerwada, City Church, Ghorpuri and Koregaon Park participated in this event. The evening began with Fr. Vincent Rasqui
nha, Rector, welcoming the youngsters to the programme. There were different games in which everyone participated enthusiastically. The programme ended with the prize distribution ceremony, after which Cl. Jason Coelho thanked the organizers and the participants for the beautiful Marian experience they had enjoyed. On December 8, the day Don Bosco began his work for young people, DBYC Pune under the leadership of Cl. Santa Raymand and our social worker Santosh, launched two clubs for the children of the neighbouring bastis. The inaugural programme began with the lighting of the lamp by Fr. Vincent Rasquinha and the Presidents of 
the clubs. Addressing the children, Fr. Vincent encouraged them to be active members of these clubs so as to draw maximum benefit for their overall development. The rules of the clubs were then explained to the children. Cl. Briston Britto led them into an action song and then spoke about the importance of study in their lives. Fr. Wilfred D’Souza, in his speech, applauded this new initiative. The programme came to a close with the President of one of the clubs proposing the vote of thanks.
