BIS # 1216 SCIENTIFIC TENOR SOARS AT BARODA

Samir Macwan BARODA, DECEMBER 13, 2008: The 4th Inter School Science Exhibition was organized by Don Bosco High School, Baroda, on Thursday, December 11, 2008. The exhibition was inaugurated at 8.00 am by Fr. Nelson Carvalho, Rector of the institution. 54 students from 10 school participated in this event. A variety of models related to environment, waste water management, alternative energy sources, pollution control etc were displayed. The exhibition provided a good opportunity to the students, both, to showcase their scientific knowledge and also to gain new insights into different issues of contemporary interest. Don Bosco High School won the first prize and they were followed by New Era Senior Secondary School. As a run-up to the inter school event, an Inter House Science Exhibition was earlier held on Saturday, December 6, 2008. 118 students from Classes V to XII participated in the exhibition. All the school students had the opportunity to go around the exhibition and take a look at the models on display. The interest of the students was clearly visible from the many questions they asked the exhibitors. The exhibition concluded with the announcement of the winners. Akshar Mistry and Gamadia Snell of Std. IX were awarded the first prize for their Water Purification project.
