BIS # 1265 ACTIVE JANUARY AT NAIGAON PARISH

Vivian D’Souza sdb NAIGAON, FEBRUARY 4, 2009: There were quite some programmes conducted during the month of January at the Naigaon. The Senior Citizens had their Christmas Mass and Get-together on January 3. The following Sunday, January 11, we had the Recollection for the parents of the children receiving First Communion, which was conducted by Mrs. Amelia and Mr. Bosco Dysilva. The Confirmation candidates and their parents also had a Recollection the same day, conducted by Sr. Annie Menezes and Mr. Anthony Fernandes. Twelve children from our parish received Jesus for the first time on January 21, while on January 29, Bishop Thomas Dabre confirmed nine of our children at an impressive ceremony. This year for the Novena in preparation for the feast of St. John Bosco, we had as our theme ‘Vocations’. The four congregations of Sisters in our parish took up four days of the novena to speak on the charism and spirit of their congregation. Fr. Blanny Pinto spoke on the Salesian spirit and Fr. Brian Moras, who celebrated the Feast Day mass, challenged the young and the parents to be generous and responsive to the call of God to follow him. Thus concluded an eventful month of January here at Naigaon.
