BIS # 1269 DRACULLA VISITS WADALA

Joseph’s News Team WADALA, FEBRUARY 5, 2009: The much awaited event of the year, the 92nd Annual Thanksgiving Day of St. Joseph's High School, Wadala was celebrated with great zest on January 22 and 23, 2009 wherein the entire Josephite family gathered together with grateful hearts. The Chief Guest for the programme was Fr. Ernest Fernandes, Manager of Sacred Heart High School, Worli. On this occasion, the school felicitated Mr. Manod Pandey and Mrs. Isabel Rodrigues who retired during this academic year after rendering over 20 years of dedicated service to the school. The little children of the Pre Primary Section and Std. I welcomed the gathering with a charming song and dance. The students of Std. II and III invoked God’s blessings on the function through a prayer dance titled "Prabhu Tera Pyaar". Next, the School Report was presented by the Principal Fr. Anthony Pinto. His reflections on the past year and insights on the educational enterprise at St. Joseph’s were well complemented by a PowerPoint presentation. And then it was time for the big event of the evening - "The Dracula Rock Show"! The backdrop, sets, props, costumes and make-up lent a thrilling atmosphere to this musical that had the audience spellbound. Dracula, Inspector Shirley Holmes, Moriarty, Watson, Mrs. Peterson, Quasithe Zombies, the Vampires and every member of the cast put up a stunning performance and enjoyed their time on stage as much as the audience enjoyed watching them. The choir, which was made up of students from Std. II to IX, rendered each song with gusto and the dancers did full justice to the lively, rock-n-roll music. The Annual Thanksgiving Day was a tremendous success thanks to the combined efforts of the entire staff.
