Mylin Noronha sdb NASHIK, FEBRUARY 11, 2009: Divyadaan, Salesian Institute of Philosophy, was honoured by the visit of Fr. Mauro Mantovani, the Dean of Philosophy, and Fr. Jaroslaw Rochowiak the Secretary General, of the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) Rome. These distinguished guests arrived on February 7, and spent two days acquainting themselves with this institute which is affiliated to the UPS. During their stay at Divyadaan, they had a meeting with the Principal, followed by a meeting with the Academic Council. They also had a general meeting with the entire community, in which they explained their roles and duties at the Salesian University in Rome. Speaking about Divyadaan, they said that they were impressed with the facilities, the faculty and the dedication of both, professors and the students. Fr. Mantavanni urged the students to use their time well, since they were blessed with an excellent institution and well qualified staff. He felt that studies at Divyadaan allowed for inter faith dialogue and reflection. Fr. Rochowiak recalled his first visit to Nashik five years ago and expressed his satisfaction at seeing the development in terms of infrastructure and facilities. As a token of appreciation for the good work being done at Divyadaan, the visitors presented an official memento to the community. They also presented Fr. Robert Pen, Fr. Valerian Pereira and Fr. Ivo Coelho special mementos for their contribution to the institution.
