BIS #1371 - SHARVANGI VIKAS SHIBIR AT NARUKOT

Joshua Alphonso sdb NARUKOT, MAY 12, 2009: Sarvangi Vikas Shibir was held at Don Bosco Narukot from April 21 to 28, 2009. It was a camp that aimed at bringing out the hidden talents of the boys and girls in our school. There were seventy five children who participated in this camp. The camp was organized under the able leadership of Fr. Mayank Parmar with the help of Br. Royston Colaco and Cl. Joshua Alphonso. Ms. Neelam, a professional coach, conducted the hockey coaching. Our past pupils, Sanjay Jeevan, Sanjay Bathu and Vinu Jana assisted in the hockey and football coaching and also conducted classes in spoken English. Ms. Nirmala and Mr. Rajesh from Ahmedabad helped bring out the artistic and creative talents in the students through sessions in stone painting, mask making, card making and needle work. Finally, music classes in tabla, harmonium and dholak were taken by Fr. Mayank and Mr. Darmesh. Speaking during the closing ceremony, Fr. Byron D’Silva, Rector, complimented the organizers for this excellent initiative that helped develop the talents of the students. He was also very appreciative of the past pupils who came forward to help in this camp and he urged the children to imitate their example. The camp, with its unique blend of music, art, craft, study and games, was thoroughly enjoyed by every participant.
