BIS #1378 - VIRAR PARISH "BONDED IN LOVE"

Loreen Fernandes VIRAR, MAY 20, 2009: The caption, “Bonded in Love”, which was prominently displayed on the backdrop, aptly described the spirit of camaraderie and enthusiasm that reigned high during the celebration of the Resurrection parish feast at Virar on Sunday, May 17, 2009. The entire church was tastefully decorated and the animation at the Eucharist was well prepared for the occasion. The principal celebrant was Fr. Vivian D’Souza. The concelebrants included Fr. Blany Pinto, Fr. Edwin Colaco, Fr. Gregory D’Cunha, Fr. Bento D’Souza and Fr. Peter. The symbolic offerings presented during the Eucharistic celebration represented the various Associations in the parish – from the Altar Servers Association to the Senior Citizens Cell. The Mass was followed by a cultural programme which included action songs, entertaining skits and beautifully choreographed dances. The celebrations then continued through the day with a variety of ‘fete games’ and stalls selling some delicious home cooked delicacies. The highlight of the evening was the 'American Auction', which was skillfully conducted by our parish priest Fr. Blany Pinto. Thanks to the hard work put in by the feast day planning committee which was guided by Fr. Edwin Colaco, the coordinators of the various associations, the catechism children and the youth, the parishioners had a truly enjoyable and memorable day.
