NASHIK, AUGUST 6, 2009: Every "Marian Month" the novices of the various religious congregations in Nashik (FHIC, FMA, SDB and SJ) gather for a much-awaited evening of togetherness. On Wednesday, August 5, 2009, 45 novices and 12 formators gathered together at Salesian Training Institute, Nashik, for an “Evening with Mary” with the theme “to live our ‘yes’ like Mary”.
The Evening began at 6.00 p.m. with a few moments of camaraderie. Next, a short and meaningful Prayer Service set the tone for the evening. The participants looked to imitate Mary in responding whole-heartedly to God’s call. The Rector and Novice Master of Salesian Training Institute, Fr Solomon Rapol sdb, then welcomed the guests. Through two anecdotes, he urged the novices to be generous and faithful like Mary was.
The next ninety minutes had the hall abuzz as the novices exerted their grey cells during some very exciting and interesting Marian games... which had a fair share of Scripture, Church History and General Knowledge. A sumptuous supper brought the Evening to its close.
August 5… truly an evening with Mary, an evening of togetherness for those taking their first steps in religious life. Kudos to the Salesian novices for organizing an enriching experience!
