BIS #1617 FAMILY LIFE EDUCATION FOR TEENAGERS

BORIVLI, NOVEMBER 10, 2009: Bosco Boys Home, Borivli organized a one day programme in collaboration with the Bombay Municipal Corporation, R/North ward, Health Departments on Health and Problems of Teenage girls. Mr. Babu Ghodke, CDO from R/North ward attended and spoke on the importance of the programme. Forty seven participants from Borivli and Dahisar slums attended the programme with their parents.

The resource person for the day was Mrs. Nanda Kambli a Social worker from Borivli who explained various topics efficiently. The programme began with the introduction of Bosco Boys Home and its various interventions in community development. The session began with ice breaking session and led to deal with various topics related to the health of teenage girls. Mrs. Nanda explained the family life education and its importance to the participants. She emphasized the role of the parents and teachers as being vital by giving support to their teenage daughter or student.

The event ended with a feedback session from the participants. CCDT staff Ms. Bhavsar played an important role by organizing people with help of local leaders. A participant desires regular information and inputs every months on related topics. The programme ended with vote of thanks delivered by Pramila Korde.
