BORIVLI, NOVEMBER 19, 2009: Bosco Boys Home, Borivli under Bosco Yuva Sanghatana organized a three days residential training programme at Jungle Camp, Walvanda, Jawhar on November 13- 15, 2009 for Tribal youth and Village Animators on Perspective Building and Participatory Rural Appraisal. Forty- Six village Animators attended the training.

The Resource person Mr. Sebastian Francis and Ms. Gazala Shaikh from SPREAD (Society for Participatory Research, Education and Development) came to train the tribal youth on different tools of PRA. Practical and theory inputs were given. The trainees were divided into small groups and sent for practical work in three villages. Fifteen people were sent in three different villages to implement the PRA tools and collect information on participatory basis.

The first day began with an ice breaker and introduction of training with its expectations. The resource person introduced the trainees to many tools while conducting the PRA at the village level. The second day focused on practical training. The trainees efficiently collected information about villages and different resources that are available in the villages. The participation of villagers was very encouraging and provided necessary information about village resources.

In the valediction programme Fr. Anaclete said, “Every one is carrying a dream, a dream of village transformation. The organization will help you organize different training programmes every two months for village Animators. The Animator has to work as a catalyst to make people more aware. When you create leadership among the youth a better society is reflected.
